Hero Games Team verkleinert - Darren Watts und Steven Long draußen!

Leider ist die Wirtschaftskrise auch an dem Verlag Hero Games nicht spurlos vorbeigegangen. Die Verkaufszahlen der Hero-System-Bücher sind rückläufig und daher manche Projekte nur als PDF veröffentlicht worden oder verschoben.

Diese Woche kam die folgende Pressemitteilung von Jason Walters heraus, in der das Ausscheiden der langjährigen Hero-Mitarbeiter Darren Watts und Steven S. Long (Autor des Regelwerks der 5. und 6. Edition) bekanntgegeben würde. Beide sind aber nicht einfach "weg", sondern nur keine Vollzeit-Angestellten von Hero Games mehr. Steven wird offenbar weiter auf dem Hero-Forum Fragen beantworten und es ist auch noch nicht ganz klar, ob er und andere Leute außerhalb von Hero Games "content" unter einer Hero System-Lizenz produzieren werden.

Ich hoffe natürlich, dass Hero weiterhin etwas Support bekommt und dass so ein großes Traditionssystem jetzt nicht bereits den Anfang vom Ende durchmacht:

    For the near future Hero would appreciate your kind thoughts and your patience. Transition periods of this sort take time, and Jason has a lot of work cut out for him, so the support of our fans is much appreciated.

PS: Kennt übrigens schon jemand dieses "Book of the Empress"? Ich habe heute das erste Mal davon gehört.

Da ich Champions schon lange nicht mehr spiele (HERO 6th benutzen wir aber durchaus aktiv, allerdings als heroic und nicht als superheroic RPG), habe ich mich damit nicht näher beschäftigt, aber hier ist die Kurzbeschreibung, falls Du die noch nicht kennst:

Oh wow.

Das hört sich nach einer Menge Stoff an! Und ich dachte immer, Tyrannon der Eroberer (oder so ähnlich?) wäre schon der Gipfel des Möglichen im Bereich kosmische interdimensionale Mega-Schurken.

Und nun auch noch Zeugs wie Waffen und Ausrüstung "from a million planes of reality"? Äääh, daran kann man sicherlich lange schreiben. Eine Million Ebenen und mehr? ;)

Gut, das Buch ist ja noch nicht draußen. Es hört sich nach einem typischen Wunschprojekt (pet project) der Autoren und Redakteure an, das nicht richtig notwendig ist, aber irgendwo cool.

Mhhh jetzt hat sich die 6th Edition langsam etabliert in meinem Freundeskreis und jetzt machen die sowas! :O/

Naja ich muss mir wohl noch ein paar Regelwerke zulegen. :O)

Tja, ich auch. Allerdings brauche ich nicht mehrmals das große 6E Regelwerk (Character Creation) und kann es mir auch gar nicht leisten.

Ich möchte alerdings interessehalber mal das Grimoire haben sowie das Advanced Player's Guide 2 oder wie das heißt, wo auch Regeln für "social combat" drin sein sollen.
