--- Zitat ---Hello all. I'm surfacing here for a few moments to share a behind the scenes look at another aspect of the work being done on the new books. This is a look at the development of the cover art for the Player's Guide, Gamemaster's Guide, and Earthdawn Companion.

The covers are being done by Milivoj Ceran, and all the sketches and such are his.

So we wanted to do something kind of cool for the covers; having three images that, when put together, make a single large image. This full image is going to be on the GM Screen as well as the poster from the Kickstarter.

The process started off with a description of the rough idea for the picture, sent off to art director Jeff, who is the one commissioning and overseeing art production. He came back with a few rough concept sketches from Milivoj, like these:

After some back and forth between myself, Jeff, and Ross, we offer some refinement to the ideas presented, talking about things we like, and we get back a more detailed sketch taking these into account.

Another round of feedback, with some suggested alterations (for example, changing the elf to a female, and making a change to the stone head in homage to the original Earthdawn cover), and we get a final sketch.

The leftmost panel is going to be the cover for the Player's Guide, the rightmost is the Gamemaster's Guide, and the center panel will be the cover for the Companion.

The full-color version isn't done yet, but if the sketch (and Milivoj's other work) is any indication, it will be a beautiful piece.

Also mir gefaellt das Bild. In der Gesamtkomposition erinnert es mich nicht an Earthdawn. Da sehe ich eher D&D. Oder ein um Riesen angereichertes Song of Ice and Fire.

Earthdawn-Falir hat es für mich der Skizze überhaupt nicht.  :q

Dammi:
Besser als das was LRG und GI verzapft haben, ist es aber allemal. Ich finds super. :d
