Gameplay:
To play the "Walking Death" franchise role-playing game, each player chooses an archetype and assigns attribute points to Strength, Agility, Wits, and Empathy. Then, the player assigns skill points based on their chosen archetype's specialties. Each skill starts at a value of 0 and can be improved by spending skill points during character creation or throughout the game.
During gameplay, the Game Master sets the scene, describing the environment and any threats or challenges that the players must face, such as zombie hordes, hostile survivors, or scarcity of resources. The players then describe their actions, using their skills and talents to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. The GM then determines the success or failure of each action by rolling a six-sided die (d6) and adding the appropriate attribute and skill values. If the result is equal to or greater than the difficulty level set by the GM, the action succeeds. Otherwise, the action fails and may have negative consequences.
In combat, each player takes turns describing their attacks and defenses, using their Force and Melee skills to attack zombies or other enemies, and their Agility skills to dodge attacks or move quickly through the battlefield. The GM rolls for the enemy's attacks and defenses, using appropriate skills and talents.
If a player's character takes damage, the GM reduces their Stamina attribute by the amount of damage taken. If a player's Stamina reaches zero, their character is incapacitated or killed, depending on the severity of the damage. The Medic archetype can use their Healing skill to restore lost Stamina or treat injuries, but may need to scavenge for medical supplies or take time to rest and recuperate.
As the players progress through the game, they may encounter new challenges, find new allies and enemies, and uncover clues about the origins of the zombie apocalypse. The Scientist archetype may be able to research and find a cure for the zombie virus, leading to a potential endgame where the survivors can rebuild society and start anew.
With these rules, players can immerse themselves in the gritty and dangerous world of "Walking Death" and test their survival skills against hordes of zombies and other threats. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
