Re: [cWOD] Werewolf The Apocalypse and metaplot.
The Players Guide to Garou goes into this. In short...
Reign of Baba Yaga
The events from Rage Across Russia: the rise and fall of Baba Yaga, Shadow Curtain, the Zmei, etc.
The creation of the Ahadi
Creation of an African Beast Court, with Garou, Baste, Mokole and Ajaba; death of Black Tooth
Impact of the devestation & nuke in India/Bangladesh
Crossover plot impacts Werewolf, as the Ravos Antideluvian is killed by the Technocracy and KotE. Ripped Gauntlet, flood of Wyrm spirits, radioactivity, etc.
The Red Star Appears
Red Star believed to be the Anthelios, the Eye of the Wyrm and major sign of the end times. As usual, what isn't a major sign of the end times to the Garou?
Perfect Metis Born
Impossibily, two Metis have a perfectly normal kid. Again, prophecies are mixed: some say it happens, others say it bears the mark of the wyrm, heralds the end times, or a great change. Again, take your pick.
Rise of Margrave Yuri Konietzko
Elder Shadow Lord Theurge makes a name as he create a big multi-tribal alliance of Garou and kicks all sorts of Wyrm/Leech ass throughout the Balkans.
Albrecht wipes out Seventh Generation and becomes Alpha of Garou Nation
He manages to wipe out a large - and pretty disgusting - cult from 1e. Silver Fangs start feeling more confident again, and the event caps Albrecht's renown to the point where he successfully claims the Silver Crown and declares his rule over the entire Garou Nation
Stargazers join the Hengeyokai
Stargazers find their ancestral home in the east is being wiped out, and their numbers are far too stretched to defend it as well as aiding the Garou Nation. Hengeyokai offer them a seat at their table and direct local assistance. Most of the Stargazers wish the rest of the Garou Nation well, and go home. A small number (ie, PCs and any NPCs an ST needs) stay behind out of obligations to the other tribes, their septs and packs.
Apocalypse
A couple potential scenarios (including the possible corruption of any tribe you want) play out in the last W:tA book. Margrave Yuri Konietzko makes a speech that makes me want to keep playing Werewolf: the Apocalypse for the rest of my life.
The only one of the above events that is difficult to ignore in your game is the Red Star. Everyone is going to notice it. The Stargazer's departure impacts the game as much as you and your players want it to. As for the rest, they involve stuff far beyond your local caern or local tribal politics. As for the Apocalypse, it would clearly occur whenever you want it to occur.
So, everything beyond the Red Star is easy to ignore ... or to drop into your game. Whatever you want. Compared to the metaplot events in other lines, that's another reason why I thought Ethan Skemp did a brilliant job as line developer for W:tA.
